The settings, characters, and their intentions are clear from page one. As other characters come into the story, they are developed immediatly. The author manages to describe the characters and scenery around them without long boring explanations. Each scene unfolds in a way that allows the reader to imagine themselves witnessing it. This book is book 2 of a series, and I came into the series without knowing that. Actualy, I didn't know it until I had finished the book! Only in the back matter did I come to understand there was a preceding novel.Sheryl Seal intertwines the past and present in an interesting way throughout the book. There is frequent "passive voice" throughout the book and some sentence structure that falls outside of the norm. They did not keep me from continuing to read the book, or enjoying it.
Oria and Grey Wolf love each other, but only "The Great Spirit" knows when their love will be consummated. The love scenes are tender and romantic, and the fight scenes are descriptive. Fantasy abounds throughout the book. If you like fantasy adveture/science fiction, you should enjoy this book.
I would have detracted 1/2 star for missing commas but the book was too good to give it less than five. I recommend this book to anyone, of any age who enjoys a good yarn.

Beyond Oria Falls Dwellers of Ahwahnee Book 2 edition by Sheryl Seal Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I enjoyed this well written sequel to Beyond Bridalveil Fall. It was interesting to learn the details about Oria, the Golden Queen's, mysterious disappearance. I was happy that Oria was reunited with the family she had not seen for almost eighteen years - her mother, father, and her almost sister. Oria traveled to the land of the lost to save the displaced souls who were waiting to travel to their final home in the west. Just like when I read the first book in the series, I learned a lot about Native American culture, shape shifters, and spirits. Beyond Oria Falls is another interesting book that I highly recommend to anyone who loves reading about Native Americans with a touch of fantasy and paranormal mixed in.
This book is written well enough that even though I haven't yet read the first book I could follow along with the story line and not get lost! Its a wonderful story involving a young woman who, with her friends go on a wonderful adventure to banish Ala from their realm. I loved the story line and reading about the history getting a glimpse into some of the native culture. A very well written book by a fantastic author! A must read for all fantasy fans!
I can honestly say this is a great story that I have enjoyed. I haven't read the first story in this series but I just purchased it after reading this one. This story has love, mystery, friendship along with many other wonderful things. It's very hard to give a excellent review without telling some of the story but I will say this, this is a must read! I will definitely be recommending this story! Great job Sheryl Seal!
I didn't realize this was the 2nd book in this series when I got it, but it did not keep me from greatly enjoying this read. My first thought is that I will have to get the first book as well and let my niece read them as well since she is really getting into this young adult, magical, shape shifter kind of book.
The story was so beautifully romantic and kind of sexy that I couldn't help but to keep turning the pages wanting to know what was going to happen next with Oria and grey wolf. As I read I found myself being reminded so much of my grandmother and some of the stories and wisdom she would share with us as children.
Wonderful read and I will definitely go back and get the first one so I know the complete background of all the characters.
In book two of the Dwellers of Ahwahnee series, author Sheryl Seal continues to skillfully build a wonderful world of fascinating characters and beautiful landscapes. It's easy to get lost in the world that Seal creates and you may find yourself wishing you could go there and be one of the characters. New characters are introduced who play important roles as the story progresses including Grey Wolf's sisters.
This story is the most sincere romance I have ever read. The author has a gift for describing what people are feeling in the most real way. The romantic passages are tender and passionate without ever seeming overly done or too syrupy. "The promises of tomorrow were in her eyes." That is one of the many romantic thoughts in this beautifully described romance set in the magical setting of Native American mysticism.
Author Sheryl Seal has a poetic way of writing which is sincere, unique and wonderful. The story is peppered with amazingly thoughtful passages and I found myself going back and re-reading them and highlighting them so I could go back and read them again. Here is one of my favorites, spoken by Oria to her grandmother while she is wondering if she will ever see her beloved Grey Wolf again "Seriously grandmother, I think the biggest coward in the world, is the man who awakens a woman's love with no intention of loving her."
But there is a lot more going on in book two than beautiful and sexy romance. In Beyond Oria Falls, we actually get to see the terrifying Ala in her real form as she wreaks havoc and destruction upon the peaceful people of Ahwahnee.
I think Beyond Oria Falls is a bit more of a cliff hanger than Beyond Bridalveil Fall and when you read this wonderful fantasy you will probably be as excited as I am about encouraging author Sheryl Seal to continue on with a third volume. I wish I could tell you more about the finale in book two and why I anticipate the next volume, but you will need to read it for yourself. I highly recommend this amazing 5-star book.
